"The Simple Life"
ABC’S, & make believe
Phonics, math, construction paper
Park days, rainy days, lazy days, Bible days,
Cooking, baking, books and pens,
P.E., writing, complaints and friends
Tasks, chores and outdoor games
Sisters, brothers, keeping sane
Finishing first, finishing last
This was our family’s past
Homeschool wasn’t always great
It was hard to make the grade
We pioneered and made it work
Through sickness, worry, fear and Hurt
Missed appointments
Broken promises
Lost moments and opportunites
Laughter, tears, fights and woes
Life was full of prayer and prose
Forgiveness, faith, hope and love
Songs of deliverance
And I suppose
Hugs and kisses and I love you’s
Cuddle times, and if you choose
To remember the former things
I think you’ll think of better days
When life was simple and good back then
And then you will remember too
When grace and goodness showered you
And think again
"It weren’t so bad"
To have the simple life you had.

"Sovereign Limitations"
Why did I shriek in the night when the moon was bright
While my fear held me captive
Why did I cry in the day, while the bright sun played
While my life slipped away
Life isn’t fair, I cry to the air
GOD where are YOU
Why don’t YOU answer me, and give me all I need
Why do YOU tarry
Could it be, could it be,
That HE is there
Sovereign limitations, are drawing me closer
To a GOD Who is humble, and so close at hand
Sovereign limitations, call me to surrender
My life that is passing, to HIS higher plans
Sovereign limitations, they teach me to listen
To HIS voice and calling, and HIS firm commands
Why do we suffer, when we only want freedom
Why do we die, defending our truth
Why do we hunger, and die in our passion
Why are we murdered, while mercy’s denied
Sovereign limitations, we all have to wander
Could this be the heart of the FATHERS’ wise plan
Could GOD know the ending, beginning and center
Of all of our sufferings, our cries and our pangs
Has HE set the stage to soften and heal us
Through suffering and anguish and feeling alone
Would we come before Him, and know HE was listening
If we didn’t need the CREATOR of all
Sovereign limitations, they teach me compassion,
To love and honor, what I can’t change
To know YOU and love YOU and walk in YOUR footsteps
And in my weakness to feel a deep need
Sovereign limitations, I offer surrender, I embrace and honor, the future unseen
To be delivered from my false conceptions, of WHO YOU are and YOUR love for me
Sovereign limitations are teaching me lessons and through the heartache
YOUR mercy I see.......
